Meet Bruce
Student advocate. Policy wonk. Nonprofit governance.

Bruce Yu is a student at the University of Western Ontario, studying business.
He worked for the Office of Ontario’s Minister of Education, supporting communications/media relations and advising on policy development.
Bruce served as the Executive Director for the Federation of Canadian Secondary Students (FCSS-FESC), with special responsibility for the government relations portfolio and internal policy development. Prior to this, he was Student Trustee for the York Region District School Board (YRDSB).
A seasoned political campaigner, Bruce has held senior leadership and consultant roles on campaigns at the municipal, provincial, federal, and intra-party levels. He provides guidance on campaign strategy and operations, focusing on volunteer engagement, procurement/purchasing, technology, social media, and data analytics.
Bruce is fluently trilingual in English, French, and Mandarin. He holds a Certificate in Education Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, a Google Project Management Certificate, Google IT Professional Certificate and is a certified Google Workspace Administrator.
He is active in his community, serving on a Grant Review Team for the Ontario Trillium Foundation. He was also a public appointee on the Minister’s Advisory Council for Special Education and served on the Advocacy Committee for Strides Toronto.
